GardenAsia

A place we don’t hear of much often (perhaps because of its ulu-ness), but GardenAsia was actually one of the outdoor venues I was contemplating for my reception before I decided on Gurame here.

GardenAsia offers a few a gardens that can be used for wedding solemnizations and receptions, according to how many pax you are catering for. The one most suited for Malay wedding is BlueSky, which fit 500pax at a time.

The good thing about this place is that you get an outdoor wedding, without having to worry about the hassle of setting up your own tents as they have their own permanent tent fixtures. Which is really convenient because tents are really expensive (i’ve enquired with a few companies, the price range is around $4-8k for a simple one, wahhhhh can die like that). And their venue costs come with a package that includes decorations and table/chairs (they don’t allow external decor companies). THankfully, they allow external catering companies, so you can bring in your favourite cater, Cik Aniz, Cik Kassim Baba semua pun boleh lah. The down side is that the place is at the deepest furthest end of Kranji, but fear not, they have a regular shuttle service to the nearest MRT station.

Price: $8000.

GardenAsia was reaaally tempting. And price wise, not too bad considering you get tentage too. BUT I had to consider my relatives living in the East and also H’s family who lives in Tampines. Plus, those kaum keluarga yang drive will confirm menyumpah pasal tampat dia ulu sangat. But for BTBs who live in the North/West side, this is a hidden gem that can be considered! Lawa nohhhh 😉

Boo..they didn’t allow external caterers when I enquired with them two years ago. Still, 8k is kinda pricey when you take into consideration the fact that it’s not air-conditioned (and I hear the place can get pretty hot, too). But such a nice venue, really.
